Soldiers Gather at Helder Funeral for Lynden Army Man
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Christian Reformed Church for Berthel Helder of Lynden killed in a Portland automobile accident. A military guard of honor and Lynden soldiers from Fort Worden Camp Lewis Vancouver Barracks University of Washington attended. Born 1893 in Holland Michigan he moved to Washington at age three and served in the First Regimental Band at Vancouver Barracks. He leaves his mother two sisters and seven brothers with one sister deceased.
