Lynden communities mourn the loss of four residents. Elizabeth Meurer a Lynden pioneer died Thursday with funeral services held Saturday. Thomas H. Smith died Saturday. Sophia Knittel died the same day at home of her daughter. George Telgenhoff died Saturday at home of his daughter Mrs Vander Yacht. Surviving family members listed include eleven Lynden and Bellingham relatives.

Pioneering Riverside Leader Elizabeth Meurer Remembered
Memorial services for Elizabeth Meurer 62, who died after weeks of illness, were held at Knapp's Parlors with Rev. Charles Baker presiding. A Riverside settler since 1891, she lived a life of service and is survived by eight children including Mrs Ray Shumway and Miss Tillie Meurer. Her husband died in 1903.

Lynden residents attended the funeral at Knapp’s Parlors for Thomas H. Smith the longtime civic leader who helped organize Lynden and Dows Town creameries the Whatcom County Fair and served on its board and as president of the fair association born March 31 1852 on Grenadier Island New York he died after a months long illness and leaves his widow seven children two died in infancy a daughter Mrs H E Stuart of Nooksack and four sons Clifford Harvey Ray T and Herman F Smith of Seattle and he was active in the M E Church in Lynden.

Death comes suddenly to Mrs Sophia Knittel at home
A large crowd gathered at Knapp's Parlors for the services of Mrs Sophia Knittel who died suddenly Saturday afternoon at her home. Rev Charles Baker led the funeral. Born in New York on December 22 1861 she had lived in the Yaden district for fifteen years and left many friends.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon for the late George H Telgenhoff who died at his home Saturday at age 74 years 5 months and 2 days after a weeklong pneumonia. Born in Holland in 1847 he came to America 37 years ago and has lived in Lynden five years with his daughter Mrs John Van der Yacht. He leaves five sons and four daughters. Services to be held at Knapp's Parlors.
