Egg association pays eight percent dividend to members

The Washington Co-Operative Egg and Poultry Association declared an eight per cent dividend on common stock. Lynden members are receiving checks this week, funded by a one cent per dozen eggs assessment deducted from weekly checks. Manager Harry Beernink said prospects for poultrymen are improving with strong markets and low feed costs. The New York market advanced two cents, boosting Eastern prices for Washington eggs due to a premium on quality. No overproduction fears exist locally as the region can produce top eggs for a solid market.

Lynden Man Addresses Northwest Merchants Convention

W. H. Waples of Lynden was the sole small town representative at the Northwest Merchants Convention in Seattle last week. He spoke on Buyers Problems and Their Solution, stressing the importance of right buying for successful merchandising. His address was delivered Thursday noon at a Bell Street Dock luncheon attended by hundreds of merchants.
