Car Goes in Eden Ditch Owned by Custer Man

A car driven by Mr and Mrs Eugene Holmes and their son Gordon slid into a ditch on a narrow Eden road after rain left deep ruts. The coupe could not be pulled out by a team and had to be lifted from the ditch by neighbors. All occupants were soaked but unharmed. Funeral attendance noted for Mrs Gay of Crystal. Residents and relatives from Custer Scottville Ludington Kalkaska and Detroit mentioned in town notices.

Sutton School Announces Two-Day Closure for Oct 22 and 28

Sutton School will be closed Thursday and Friday October 22 and 28 for a teachers institute in The Rapids. The English contest at the school draws praise as pupils strive to improve their language. Many local visits occurred Sunday and Saturday with Miss Ragna Midbo and others visiting friends and relatives in town and nearby communities.

John Lant supplied aid in the immediate room until Irving Cranes death was reported after a lengthy illness at Battle Creek. his body to be brought to Freesoil for funeral arrangements today.

Dinner Guests at Henry Shreek Home in Valhalla

Mr and Mrs Fred Schoenberg and family were dinner guests at the Henry Shreek home in Valhalla Sunday. William Sommerfeldt harvested his fields Friday, yielding more than 12 000 bushels.
