Paris reports storm clouds over the French debt accord as Finance Minister Caillaux nears report on debt funding talks in Washington. Opposition from Franklin-Bouillon and foreign relations leaders raises fears the Pain-Tevoi government could fall over the debt issue.
Scotville Methodist Episcopal church members hosted Rev and Mrs B L Sutcliffe at the Mietary church Friday evening. Over 100 attendees enjoyed music and readings as Victory ladies prepared refreshments. Hans Petersen of Sparta visited his daughter-in-law Bertha Petersen and Victory friends for five weeks before returning to Sparta Wednesday. Mrs Frank Hartnett entertained her mother Mrs Brandenberry and family from Port Indiana. Mrs Arthur Abrahamson visited Thursday and Friday at the Evangelical Ladies Aid. An upcoming merry-go-round potluck supper is planned for Oct 15 at the home of S George Crampton with Mrs Arthur Andersen returning from a motor trip to the south. Wheelock joins here this week. Grace Althea and Lois Loomis spent Saturday with Dorothy Eastina at the M Kienholz home.
West Branch Michigan October 10. Mushroom eating cows are as capable as humans of blundering into toadstools with fatal results. Five cows in Horton Township died under mysterious circumstances prompting suspicion of poisoning. Dr Rea, after investigation, attributed death to toadstodes after finding poisonous mushrooms in pasture contents. The state veterinary department sent Dr Clark to autopsy the cattle.

Detroit, Oct Lu. Leo Sauerman, paroled Shifer, stood mute when arraigned before Judge Frank Murphy on a charge of attempting to intimidate Gilbert Saxton, a bartender and witness in a saloon robbery case. Sauerman released under $1,000 bond for examination as the robbery charge awaits.
