A Detroit man and Alma Ohst of the area were married in Detroit on Saturday April 26. Alma is the daughter of Herman Ohst and has worked in Detroit for five years. Local congratulations pour in to the newlyweds.
Members of the Bethlehem church gathered Sunday after service to honor Mrs. Ernesting Lux on her seventh day anniversary with a potluck supper and a birthday cake baked by Mrs. Otto Listing. Neighbors shared reflections on her early years in America and the voyage.
Mr and Mrs Charles Genter and daughter Esther were guests of Mr and Mrs Frank Lep henthien for dinner Sunday. English services will be held Sunday afternoon with Rev C Schinterer officiating. Mr and Mrs Herman Pomerin sky and family, back on their Ludington farm, are glad to be home for spring. Bethlehem church members and old neighbors welcome them back. Charles Genier and Esther visited the Seen Hent family Wednesday evening. Otto Brower and son Harold enjoy the Ford car they recently bought.
W C Dodge and son went to Chicago after learning Mrs Dodge had died Monday morning. The family had spent weeks at the farm home with her son and family. Community offers sympathy. other items note births, visits, and local social events.
Walhalla residents report plans tied to Long lake property as Ora and Mrs Smith visit to buy a lot for a future home. Bert Barnhart moves to a cottage on Long lake after selling Walhalla house to E Jaser of Chicago. John McKenzie adds a wall and basement and plans an addition this spring. Ida Smith returns from Ludington assisting occupancy at Stearns residence. Lida and Karl Ray mourn the death of their father Frank Ray of Phelps Wisconsin. Albert Baynton and Frank Leonard drive from Peru Indiana to visit John McKenzie’s home Sunday evening. Leonard departs for Traverse City to visit relatives for a week. Baynton remains to visit uncles and friends before Leonard’s return, with plans to seek work in Cheboygan Wisconsin.

Kendrick presenting an address on Ideals in Community. A musical program led by Mrs. A. O'Brien and son Raymond featured violin solos, vocal duets, and a quartet, capped by a staged act. A noonday dinner at Fern schoolhouse followed, and local families and friends shared in the event through Sunday visits and weekend gatherings reflected in several household notes.

Hugh Kidder spent last week in Muskegon visiting his brother and relatives including Mr and Mrs Grove Taylor and son Robert. Roy Lake stayed in Scottville with James Sims. Margaret Kidder returned to Muskegon after weeks with her parents. Roy Winner and daughter Eunice traveled to Shelby on business. Ed Shanafelt and Grove Taylor were in Ludington on billings. James Sims of Scottville visited Mrs Roy Lake. Willy Kidder stayed Saturday with Patterson children. A crowd attended a dance at Walhalla. Claude Taylor visited Guy and Clarence Lake. Hye Bletch and Della Shaffer visited Ray Misner’s home. Mrs Hugh Kidder was guest of Mrs BH Potter. Ethelyn Ricelett plans Grand Rapids weekend visit.
Elm Flats reports Mr and Mrs Valmar La Pointe and daughter Carolyn of Detroit were supper guests of Mr and Mrs Marshall Gulembo. Elder John Sehurer of Freesoil visited the Gulembo household. A wind storm damaged the silo and barn of Mrs Anna Driscoll. The Gulembo family and Mrs Rolland Gulembo traveled to St Joseph for a visit with relatives, with Louise Gulembo accompanying to Grand Rapids to see her sister Mrs E W Courtland.
Mrs John Peterson entertained young folk and mothers on Tuesday April 21 for her son Marshall's fifth birthday. The town board met Saturday to discuss widening and grading the Paul hill, with Max Paul and Peter Anderson contracted to do the work. A sale was held at Paul Marek's place.

Becks resignation, submitted early in the new administration, has been delayed publicly to allow time for choosing a successor.
