Freesoil school board at its regular meeting Monday elected the year’s officers. Thompson was chosen president, Monnens as vice president, with Miss Stephenson named treasurer and secretary. The action follows motions raised at the previous month’s session.
Mr and Mrs Janis Battices and daughter Dorothy of Morley visit Mr and Mrs James McClellan in the Wrou man district. Mary McClellan joins after a month at the Ratlie home. Mrs Margaret Stockeski and son Richard travel to Rockton for weeks with aunt Mrs Mary Osgood near Muskegon. Peter Bailey arrives from Muskegon for a short visit before returning. Federal land loan appraiser Harry Volluston visits Freesoil for two weeks regarding Farm loan suspensions.
H O Loken wins the Fountain School Board presidency in a town meeting. The report lists board members including Coby Cray and other residents with attending notes on meetings, transit, and events shaping education in Fountain.
West Riverton residents reported a successful picnic at Victory Park despite bad weather with around 75 attendees enjoying the meal and games. Local families and visitors from nearby areas joined events and church and Sunday school planning continued through the week with committee meetings and visits to relatives.

Miss Helen Warmon went to Graml Rapids Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Verbert Adrian. She expects to be gone a week. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Sarna of Ludington spent Sunday with their son Ray and family. A few from this vicinity attended Children's day exercises at Bethel church Sunday evening. Misses Gertrude and Helen Snow Hazelstech and Lucille Anders of Ludington were recent visitors at the Patrick Murphy home.
Mrs Mardyce Boyson entertained a group for the 80th birthday anniversary of Myr James Boyson. The afternoon included conversation and a dinner at 1 o clock featuring a lashed patatoss roast beef brown arava pork and beverages. Several guests attended from Manistee Bennett district Taudingdon and Ladiston with many others listed among the attendees and hosts.
Catherine Mickey hosted by daughter Mrs Glenn Genung this week as Luther Tale and Res Kobe wedding notes emerge. M L Tale and Paul left for Memphis where Rev Tale, rector of Holy Trinity, presided at Luther Tale and Res Kobe wedding. Mr and Mrs Marshal Kobe of Ludington attended and wedding march played by Kobe. Visitors include Ray Gifford and Lansing couple John Catherine. Charles Quinn substitutes for Carl Quinn on duty during two week vacation. Benda Brown returned from two weeks with grandmother Etta Kline. Valer arbor Gleaners will meet Stephen Darke couple Friday night July 6.
Mr and Mrs Vault Gerbers and Mr and Mrs A R Septrcon bought new cars. Mr and Mrs Hol Bigs Leone Tird visited county Sunday, met by Lena Quinn and Eliza Paircehild. Home harvests strawberries noted as large and fine. Cousins Thomas and Walter Scott hosted by Septrions. West took and curdled commissionery. Bigsby route graded one mile west of Jones corners for carving. Arthur Gifford Flint and Blackwell family Gary visiting.
