Mrs Harriet D Willard longtime Lakeland resident died June 25 at Lakeland General Hospital after moving from Ford Lake Michigan 24 years ago. She was active in Congregational Church and VFW Auxiliary Cleveland Ohio and served as Auxiliary president. Survived by husband Theodore son Eugene C of Lakeland daughter Mrs George Herzog of Corona California sister Mrs Marguerite Francis of Fort Myers three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Three accidents investigated by the sheriff Monday left two people injured. A motorcycle collision at Cartwood Drive and Ivanhoe Road injured David L. Walton and Brian Krause. A car at US-10 and 31 in Ludington damaged both vehicles, Mary A. Viene cited for failure to yield. A third minor incident at Jebavy and Angling Road damaged a post with Dean L. Hess at fault.

Ferris State College named thirteen area students to the Academic Honors List for the spring quarter. Eligibility requires a 3.25 average on a 4.0 scale and full course load. Honorees include John W. Wissner of Scottville Albert J. Jeffries of Pentwater and Jeffrey P. Anderson Beth Bennett not listed.
The Danish Brotherhood held a pinochle party with 13 tables. Prizes were awarded: first for men Marshall Bahr and women Mrs Walter Klaft. second for Armour Odean and Marie Hedlund. third for men John Danforth and Mrs Armour Odean. travelling prize to Margaret Hobson. Committee members included Mrs Lena Hansen and Ken Johnson invites all, including non-members, to the monthly event on the third Wednesday at Danish Hall.

A large turnout for June social at the Danish Brotherhood’s Danish Hall featured a barbecue dinner by Russell Bentz despite cold winds. Members praised the meal while committee members included Seguin, Bentz, Nelson, Jensen, Garcia, Johnson, Larsen, Lovewell, Christensen and Liebetreu. Next meeting is July 13 at the hall.
