Midsummer Festival Held at Luther Hall by Circle Groups
A cheerful Midsummer Day festival took place Tuesday afternoon at Luther Hall, sponsored by Circle Band Circle f Emanuel Lutheran Ladies Sn society. Mrs Herbert Carlson and Mrs Oscar Nelson led as general chairs. The hall displayed beech and evergreen decorations and Sweden themed tables with antiques and crafts. Swedish coffee cake and treats were served to about 150 guests in a festively set cafe area.

Fishing trip yields 300 fish at Hamlin lake report
Frank Filer and his friend Monroe fished Hamlin lake last week and caught 300 fish in a single day, the most successful local fishing expedition in years, with fish weighing five to 56 pounds. Rupert Fulton manned the Rockfeller tug off Big Pointe Sable in fog, rescuing a chip boat with over 200000 bushels of corn aboard after distress signals. Ug Wine and daughter Elizabeth depart for Montreal and then sail on the Tunisian for a grand tour of Europe before school starts in September.

World War I Uniform and Equipment Presented to Museum

Glen Cove officials set July 12 as the auction date for the former J Pierpont Morgan mansion and estate to settle $30,000 in back taxes. The 56 room stone mansion built in 1910 cost 2 1/2 million dollars and sits on a three acre East Island site off Long Island's north shore.
