Five Hurt In Three Mishaps Reported Friday
Five persons injured and one arrested for driving under the influence after three local accidents Friday. Robert E. Sparrow, 44, of 109 Melendy St., treated for minor injuries, then jailed for DUI after his vehicle crossed the center line on US 31 at 6 35 p.m. He struck a car driven by Frank H. Davis, 47, of Benton Harbor, who had minor injuries. a 14 year old passenger Debbie Krugh of the same address was taken to Memorial Hospital of Mason County with minor injuries.

Off-Duty Deputy Involved In Two-Car Crash
An off-duty Mason County sheriff’s deputy was in a two car collision at Chauvez and Stiles Road at 5 20 p m Friday. His wife and daughter were injured and treated at Memorial Hospital. Brenda Flowers of Hart drove the other car. Both vehicles suffered considerable damage. The Hart post of the Michigan State Police investigated and the crash remains under investigation.
