Missing Hospital Equipment Recovered Near Pau lina Stearns
Most of the communication equipment reported missing earlier this week from the old Pau lina Stearns Hospital has been located. A monitor unit and cords were found in alleys or empty fields within several blocks of the hospital. The telephone equipment first reported taken was removed by the telephone company. Air 63, water 56, swimming conditions cool at the beach at noon today.

80 Per Cent Of Freeways Now Complete
LANSING UP I eighty per cent of Michigan interstate freeways will be finished by the Fourth of July. The State Highway Commission said 37.9 miles of new freeway in Arenac Bay and Calhoun counties will open July 2, bringing total interstate miles completed to 869. The openings include a 13.5 mile stretch of I 69 near Marshall and a 24.4 mile stretch of I 75 between Bay City and Standish. The 38.5 mile I 69 corridor from Indiana to I 94 costs 38 million dollars and features break away sign supports wide medians and two span bridges with a single center pier.

Weather warms with near normal five day forecast
Tonight and Thursday bring warmer temperatures with lows from 40 to 47 degrees. Rain chances remain around 10 percent. The five day outlook from Thursday through Monday shows average highs near 75 to 80 and lows near 48 to 54 with little day to day variation. Rainfall totaling about one third inch is expected mainly on Sunday or Monday.
Missing mother and two girls found at Ludington State Park
Missing at Ludington State Park for about 16 hours, Mrs Gladys Laningham 45, daughter Kim 12 of Perry Michigan, and Lori Harris Eaton Rapids cousin, were found at 8 a.m. by Mason County sheriff patrol boat Deputy Richard Ritsema. They were safe after entering the dunes area on Ridge Trail and becoming lost in fog.

Trio Found Safe After Night Lost In Sand Dunes Park
Mrs Laningham and two girls spent a long night in dune country after getting lost during a hike in a Michigan park. A sheriff auxiliary member piloted a plane over the area while MSP tracking dog and a Coast Guard helicopter from Traverse City assisted in locating them. Campfire kept them warm. they slept part of the night and ready for another hike today before leaving later. Mr Laningham thanks troopers and deputies who worked through the night.

Fire destroys Hotel Central in Chesaning
A two story brick Hotel Central in Chesaning burned completely after a fire woke residents before dawn. Eight guests were accounted for with several others unaccounted as flames sent guests leaping from windows and several were hospitalized for burns and smoke inhalation. Fire departments from Owosso Saginaw Township and St Charles aided Chesaning firefighters.
