Engines Fail in Soviet Jet During Emergency Landing
In Warsaw two of four TU14 supersonic jet engines failed and wing cracks appeared prompting an emergency landing at Okecie Airport. Aeroflot said the plane was fine as mechanics repaired six and six inch cracks near the left engine mountings overnight before a refueling and flight to Moscow. Erwin Holcomb 63 from Wyoming Mich died after a 23 foot fall Thursday at the Ludington Pumped Storage Project. Employed by Ebasco Engineering, he was working on reinforcing steel on the second floor when he apparently fell from scaffolding under construction. He died at Hackley Hospital after transfer from Memorial Hospital.

Fire causes 3500 damage at Ludington home
