Families of boys from Scottville Boy Scout troop No. 12 visited a camp on the Little Manistee River near Filer City. Scout master Donald Gager planned the surprise gathering as 47 miles of hiking ended with a festive meal and evening campfire led by Robert L. Weir. Twelve Scottville Scouts Trek 120 Miles in Six Day Hike
A dozen Scottville Boy Scouts led by Scoutmaster Donald Gager of Troop 12 undertake a six day 120 mile hike through Mason and nearby counties. They camped at Gun Lake Friday night and 18 Mile Dam on the Little Manistee Saturday night. A large turnout of parents joined the open air supper and campfire. The group planned further stops at Old Freesoil and Big Sable River before returning to Scottville.
