Algot P Johnson 76 Dies at Memorial Mason Co Hospital
Algot P Johnson 76 of 210 Franklin St died at 3 15 am today in Memorial Hospital of Mason County after a brief stay. Born Aug 16 1894 in Ludington he married Rose Barton Mar 1 1917 in Grand Rapids. He farmed in Victory Township then worked 21 years as a watchman on Chesapeake and Ohio train ferries retiring in May 1962. He belonged to Pere Marquette Lodge 299 F&AM Ludington Aerie 1354 FOE and the National Maritime Union. Survived by wife child Aubrey A Johnson of Livermore Calif a daughter Alice Abrahamson of SagINaw a brother Robert Johnson four sisters eight grandchildren seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 30 pm Friday at Dorrell Funeral Home.

Two Accidents Reported in Mason County
The Mason County Sheriff's Department logged a single vehicle crash on Brunson Road near Kistler Road at 4 40 p m. Fin lis M Meadows of Muskegon drove off the road and into a ditch and was cited for driving without due caution. A separate two vehicle collision occurred in Bowser's parking lot at 3 10 p m involving Clayton J Lamont of 1040 Vogel Street and a parked car owned by Gerald R Battice of route 1 Ludington. Both cars had very minor damage.

Everett Fager 82 of Naples Florida died June 10 at St. Luke's Hospital Saginaw after brief illness. Born October 2 1888 in Ainsworth Nebraska he married Ethel Nehr December 20 1908 in Petroleum Indiana. He worked as an engineer for Pere Marquette and Chesapeake and Ohio Railways for 85 years retiring 1954 then moved to Naples. He was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and East Naples Baptist Church. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday June 12 at First Baptist Church Saginaw burial Naples Memorial Gardens Florida. Attending included Clarence Miller Scottville and Mrs Joseph Sanders and Mrs Kenneth Rathburn Custer.

Larry Kistler Dies Tuesday in Summit Township
Larry H. Kistler 85 of route 1 Deren Road Summit Township died at 11 am Tuesday at home after a three year illness. He was born January 21 1886 and spent his life in the area. He ran Kistler's Corners blacksmith shop from 1907 to 1954 and later operated blacksmith and plumbing businesses. He married Cosette Curott on June 22 1915 in Ludington. Surviving are his widow two daughters three sons 11 grandchildren eight great grandchildren one brother three sisters and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday at Rye Funeral Home.

Fifteen candidates were accepted into membership of Order of Eagles at the Eagles Lodge Saturday evening. Preceding the initiation dinner was served to 100 members and wives Gene Towns was dinner chairman assisted by Mrs Towns and several couples. Dinner was prepared by Mrs Donald Rutowski and Mrs Gordon Macher. Dancing followed to music by the Nite Notes.
