Curtiss Berndt announced Mason Lake Soil Conservation District participation in the 1972 State Youth Conservation Scrapbook Contest co sponsored by the Michigan State Grange and the Michigan Association of Soil Conservation Districts. Seven scrapbooks were judged by a committee and district awards of 5 dollars went to multiple students across Lake View, Victory Elementary, South Hamlin, Mason County Eastern, and Ludington Area Catholic.
