Hay fever and ragweed allergy in America

Director Named To Head Neglected Youth Program
David J. Ditmar is named community services specialist for the Office of Youth Services regional office in Traverse City. He covers twelve counties including Mason and will work with regional director Terry W. McHoskey to develop programs for delinquent and neglected youths, coordinating advisory committees and volunteers. Ditmar, a Jackson County child welfare worker since 1968, holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Calvin College degree. He and his wife will relocate from Ann Arbor to Traverse City.

Death of Coast Guard officer Cdr George Beck Ward 75
George Beck Ward reports the death of Cdr George S. Beck at age 75 in Chardon Ohio on May. Beck served as officer in charge of the U S Coast Guard Marine Inspection Office Ludington 1952 58 and had a long maritime career from deckhand to master licensed officer. Milton H Gilbert, son of Mrs. Raymond E Gilbert of 21 S Lakeshore Drive, was appointed pastor of Whitley Memorial United Methodist Church in Smithfield North Carolina. The appointment came from Bishop William R Cannon at the Raleigh United Methodist District annual conference in Durham North Carolina.
