Impressive Ludington Eighth Grade Commencement
Eighth grade graduates of Ludington public schools held commencement at Oriole hall. The program opened with a grade school orchestra directed by Louis F. Peterson performing First Assembly, Nonette, Allegiance. Foster school presented the first portion with Night, Venetian Song, Merry June, and a flag drill. Pere Marquette school sang The Woodlands and Burro Bells in the Moonlight.

Society Hosts Hudson Parlor Meeting of Women’s Service

Devotional theme Growing Up featured Edgar Guest poem The Good World read by Mrs. Clifford Johnson. solo My Task sung by Mrs. Forrest B. Gilbert with piano by Mrs. D. W. Filer. Mrs. M. H. Kelly spoke on migrants and migrant centers, then described missionary work, migration article by Mrs. Bruce S. Bailey. Business session led by Mrs. G. D. Caplon voted to suspend meetings in July and August and to reconvene in September. members wished a pleasant summer vacation.

Alumi Banquet Salutes St Simon’s 1941 Graduates

Thirty five members and friends of the Ladies' Arebiter society enjoyed a dinner at J. F. Woods's Twin Gables Baldwin on Pere Marquette river. Mrs. John Laird reported on the state convention. Mrs. Lindenau celebrated golden wedding with a gift and won the mystery package. Carding eight tables, prizes went to Hoch Lorentz Laird and Schohl. Next meeting June 25 at Mrs. Young's home with Mrs. Kovar co hostess.

Local Catholic Daughters meet with officers to plan July events
Court Ludington No. 745 of the Catholic Daughters of America held a Wednesday meeting in James Goldenhall. Plans were made for a leaked goods sale on July 12 and a picnic on July 15 with joint installation of officers in Manistee on June 26. The state regent Mrs. Lena O Malley will install, and Mrs. Fred Larson reported on the Bay City convention.
