Members of the Ninth Congressional Townsend district will gather Sunday June 16 at Ludington State Park for an all day basket picnic and discussions with a guest speaker. To Receive Degree On Saturday June 15 Doctor Norton to receive PhD
Clark F Norton Jr son of Mr and Mrs Clark F Norton of 504 East Loomis street will receive the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Michigan on Saturday June 15. He was educated at Ludington high school Lawrence college Appleton Wis and the University of Michigan where he earned BA MA and completed a doctoral dissertation with Rackham fellowships and Phi Delta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honors. The Mason county chapter of the American Red Cross held its regular board meeting on June 5 in Red Cross rooms with Rev J A Landin absent. Rev Paul H Clark presided. A delegate was approved for the aquatic school at Camp Shelby Michigan. May reports show 19 home service cases including four veterans receiving hospitalization at veterans facilities and an accrued bene application. Adjournment set for the first Wednesday in September or when chaired call arises.
