EAST LANSING UPI reports two days of demonstrations by MSU students demanding campus police oversight. Police from five agencies cleared the occupied administration building after 70 demonstrators were removed, with 21 arrests for trespassing and clashes leaving officers and students injured or distressed.
Los Angeles reports the death of Senator Robert F. Kennedy at 42 from brain injuries after an assassination. President Johnson proclaims a national day of mourning as Kennedy's widow Ethel and Jacqueline Kennedy attend the hospital vigil with Kennedy's children aboard a presidential flight.
Michigan Senate and House prepared second attempts to pass modified court reorganization and Sunday liquor bills for Gov Romney. Lawmakers faced a deadline jam but considered extending the session two to three weeks amid major budget work. The court reform would create district courts replacing justice of the peace courts, while Sunday liquor faced near defeat before postponement.

If rejected the district would cut two and a half teachers and curtail high and grade school programs. The tax would raise taxes by 1.25 mills over 1967. Eight candidates filed, including incumbent Robert Graham and challengers Mrs. H. E. Gebett Robert Coker and Jack Rought. Polls open 9 am to 8 pm at the high school on E Park Street.
