A Low Ball sweepstakes piqued Thursday afternoon at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club season opening luncheon at the rhabehouse. Hostesses were Mesdames O. A. Starke Byelhyn Sullivan and Alfrea Northman. Mrs Manierre Dawson won a special prize and several members including Mrs Ben Peterson Mrs C A Puuketis and Mrs Emmett D Taylor were among sweepstakes winners. Ludington Girl Scouts plan summer troop camping from July 20 to August 9 under the council camping program. Only registered Scouts and leaders in charge may attend for insurance coverage. Camps will be supervised by leaders who completed the outdoor training course. The Hamlin lake site offers swimming hiking outdoor cooking campfires and general camping activities.

Presbyterian church honors Dr Morse on mission centennial
In a meeting of the general assembly of the Presbyterian church, Dr Morse receives a honor marking the 100th anniversary of the church missions. Morse is identified as brother to Eleanor and Mabel Morse of the city. Members voted to buy 10 maroon robes for the church choir, with the music committee led by Walter Krause. Robes likely debut in September. The group plans World Community Day on November 4 with the National Council of Church Women. Mrs George C Humphrey chairs Michigan's 5th district and outlined the theme Christian Foundations for World Peace. Layette sewing projects and clothing for children up to six will be distributed via Church World Service. The Mary and Martha circle delivered a missionary apron to the Friendship circle chaired by Mrs Jerome B Kiser, and a note on the American Sunday School Union’s yearly support was given.
