Oceana to reopen County Normal in Hart
State inspectors Orwell and Migs Isabelle Hecker met in Wart Tuesday to finalize plans for reopening the Oceana County Normal School in Hart with the next school year. The state will contribute 3000 toward teaching costs, the county and Joint District No. 1 cover the balance, and the district will provide the facility. A superintendent and a lead teacher will join the existing faculty.

Escaped Convict Shot To Death In Detroit
Fred Jackson 28, an escaped prisoner from Jackson State Prison, was fatally shot by Detroit patrolman Hivis BR Eubanks and three companions when Jackson allegedly tried a hold up on a road near Detroit. Police say Jackson escaped from the Jackson facility in July 1922 and, after robbing the group, attempted to flee before Eubanks opened fire.
