Earl Houghton obituary a life of work in Michigan
Earl M. Houghton, 82, of Pentwater, died Friday afternoon at his brother in law and sister’s home after a long illness. Born August 17, 1889 in Oceana County, he worked as a Flint streetcar conductor until 1934, then ran a sportsmen’s cabin near Houghton Lake for two decades. In recent years he split time between Newaygo and Pentwater. Funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at Tate-Weaver Chapel Pentwater, Rev. Glenn Britton officiating, burial at Elfridge Cemetery near Pentwater.
