News from Fountain Michigan reports the July 3 marriage of Miss Emma Patish-Akee and John Budzynski in Grand Rapids. The couple, both well known locally, will reside in Grand Rapids.
Bethel Summit and Crystal Valley Methodist churches held a joint picnic at Mears Park in Pentwater for the Fourth of July. A short service led by Rev. Rogers followed a sermon on a Lane Fourth. Afternoon sports included tug of war and a baseball game amid many local attendees and families.
In the hospital at Muskegon a report notes attendees of a local motor boat races gathering. Guests included Mr and Mrs G Hurthie and family August Hurthie and Arthur Matson Mr and Mrs C Gosen and family who spent Sunday at Scattville with others from nearby corners.
Local residents and several visitors from Manistee Kalamazoo Milwaukee Grand Rapids and Fountain Township spent weekend evenings and Sunday afternoons at various homes including George Moore Valeny Verona and Ed Edwards households. Mr and Mrs Bert Sterning Iva Bonnell Elmers and children were among those who called.
Elmton residents gather for a large family reunion at the J J Howell residence with extended relatives from Grand Rapids Ludington Detroit and other areas. Attendees include Georges Howell Loretta Edward Quinn and multiple Carlson and Brabers families enjoying meals and visits during the holiday weekend.
Hillot and son Eugene were callers at the Beekmin home Sunday. The Misses Alina and Beatrice Cowell returned to Grand Rapids Sunday after visiting their parents Air and Mrs H Cowell over the Fourth.
Mr and Mrs Anthony Souders and children of Owosse visited the Wm Shaw home over the Fourth. Edwin Sas found his sister Esther visited the Andrew Sas home then returned to Detroit Sundens. Anna Kesou and family hosted a picnic at Gunlake with several families from Elinton Muskego. Joe Sprader returned from Muskegon. Various families from Muska fon and nearby towns joined a group to Bass Jake for an afternoon on July 4. A large crowd attended the St Marys dance Saturday night. Fd Kass and family from Muskegon with the Albert Kass family spent the Fourth at south Oxbow lake. George Vantluysen visited the Howard Wicklind home Sunday. Jess Peterson and family with Peter Matson attended a Pentwater picnic on July 4. The Gowden and Freeland families plus others spent the Fourth at north Oxbow lake. Ruth Freeland spent the week with her sister in Ludington.
Traffic violations fill the justice courts of A. J. Tower and W. J. Gleagon as arrests occur. John Land faced Justice Tower for reckless driving after a patrol led to his arrest, costing $3. Clarence Moline was charged with speeding by Charles Barnhardt and assessed costs. Timothy Kesicki, a mal resident, was arrested for a nonstop violation and charged costs by Justice Tower.
Mrs Suan Kidston Li Th, wife of William Livingstate president of the Dime Savages bank and of the Lake Curriers association, died yesterday after a long illness. She was among Detroit’s oldest native born residents.
The Pentwater district will hold its annual meeting Monday July 13 at 7 30 p m at the schoolhouse to elect two trustees as terms expire for J W Fincher and A T Wayte Fincher says he will not seek re election Wayte newly appointed to fill a vacancy has proven efficient and is a candidate for election also noting local social and probate court notices and real estate transfers in a parish wide update
Maple Grove Oceana County report notes F Scott Torbell from Garnett Iowa visiting John and Oscar Davis families. Ruggles family children prospering, P J Krupp and Clarence Ruggles involved in hay work. The Davis and Hullinger groups celebrated the Fourth at School Section Lake and Starr Lake with a number of relatives. Mr Smith, Etta Wul linger's father, is able to be about again.
Defense counsel deem Bryan's Dayton club address a basis for a constitutional amendment with aims to remove freedom. Dr. John R. Neal issued a summary statement asserting Bryan will push from lower courts to Tennessee's supreme court and then to the national Supreme Court.
Willian Jennings Bryan arrived in Dayton amid preparations for security as officers from multiple cities back local police. The scene remains charged with the trial’s religious and educational liberty questions, while extra guards monitor offenses near the courthouse and vigilante-type activity is warned against.
