Are Served At Chicken Supper In Freesoil Michigan

Freesoil Michigan December 3. A crowd of more than 124 attended a chicken supper at the little rural German Lutheran church at Pelton's Corners. Proceeds benefited the church’s envelopes. The basement was converted into a dining room with a kitchen and stove. Attendees came from Fountain, Scottville, Manistee, Victoria, Freesoil, Chicago and nearby areas. Menu included fried chicken, galavy, mashed potatoes, corn, cabbage salad, baked beans, pickles, bread, butter, shakes, pies and coffee.

Chamber School Thanksgiving Program Shown

The Chambers school in Victory Township held a Thanksgiving program with songs recitations and dialogues attended by pupils and patrons. Patrons' club served pie and coffee. games followed. Nearby residents hosted gatherings and visitors from Linear River and Kalamazoo College attended.

Uncle Wiggily's Tricks and Local Notices Parade

Fiction items and community notes recount Uncle Wiggily's Tricks and a series of local notices. Lowell Teeter is honored as part of a stock judging team from Michigan State College bound for a national stock show in Chicago. A former student from Wilson school, class of 1915, earned an eighth grade honor and a chance to attend the state fair. B. B. Adams leaves Kentucky after visiting Paul Griswold. A Parent-Teacher Association pie social is planned at Wilson school on Friday evening December 4. The Brighten-the-Corner club will meet at Floyd Wood's home on Thursday.

Thanksgiving visitors and family gatherings reported

Ethel Owen spent Thanksgiving at home. Rex Morse returned from Flint for a few days with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. A B Smith traveled to Detroit with Carlos Jembo, visiting relatives for the winter. J B Brandenburg and Ezra Brandenburg families and others hosted Thanksgiving guests. Frank Pitcher and family and Vernice Boss visited Jay Pitcher home. HW DO Brandenburg and daughter Helen joined Griffiths east of Free Soil for the holiday. Jess Rynearson and Muskegon guest returned Friday. Claud Renwick family visited Muskegon and Grand Rapids, A P Smith joined FP Monse on Thanksgiving.

Major Gleaners Meeting and Installations Planned

A Gleaners meeting is set for Saturday December 12 at George Petersons home with a vote and luck dinner. Officers will be installed in the afternoon. Mrs Id Ross and childrn of Muskegon Sleights and others visited relatives during Thanksgiving including Mr and Mrs A Bahr.
