Still and Liquor Taken by Raiders
A still operating in a secluded fruit cellar and 10 gallons of Hullar were found at the Otto Carlson home on the former Manistee road by Sheriff Andrew Anderson and his posse Saturday afternoon. Starting at 3 o'clock Sheriste Anderson, with Under Officer Tony Motel and Chief Timothy J Barber raided the Carlson home north of Jebany's corners. With search warrant and affidavit of pay due they seized two hundred gallons of mash, another still and coil, four cases of liquor and accessories. Carlson was lodged in the county jail and will have a hearing Monday to determine evidence from purchasers of liquor. The sheriff noted the difficulty in securing such evidence, saying most violators avoid naming sources.
