Excursion Train Crash Injures 31 Near Fort Bragg
A head on collision between two excursion trains near Fort Bragg California injured 31 passengers. Eight to eleven were reported critically injured and taken to Redwood Coast Hospital. The incident occurred around 4 30 p m on a remote wooded stretch on the Skunk line linking Fort Bragg and Willits. The regular Fort Bragg to Willits trip met a chartered special train, operated by masons, on the one way track. The railroad now functions mainly as a sightseeing line.
