Litton opens Loop 289 plant with two day open house
Litton Industries announces a formal dedication and two day open house for its new multi million dollar electronics plant at Loop 289 and Quirt Ave in Lubbock. The weekend program features a 10 a m Saturday ceremony with U S Rep George Mahon Gov John Connally and Littons board chairman Charles Bates Thornton. A plant tour follows and a noon Saturday barbecue expected to attract more than 2500 attendees. Walter Jetton will head the barbecue invites go to business civic and community leaders associated with Littons plant. On Sunday the public may tour from 1 p m to 6 p m. The plant makes components for inertial guidance navigation systems for space craft and advanced aircraft. Litton currently operates three shifts seven days a week.
