Connecticut Applies Pretrial Disclosure Experiment
Federal prosecutors in Hartford began a pretrial disclosure experiment requiring full government evidence be shared with defense lawyers a week before trial. Defense also must disclose its evidence, with exceptions for intimidating witnesses or complex financial cases where tailoring testimony is likely. U.S. Attorney Jon O. Newman called it an experiment and noted it could be scrapped if ineffective.
