Two men detained in the Friday shooting death of Gerardo Hinojosa in the 200 block of Avenue TD were released after about 30 Mexican nationals, believed witnesses, left Lubbock en route to Mexico. Authorities labeled the Saturday blaze arson with fire chief Hershel Sharp and arson specialists directing the probe. Federal investigators may join Monday as the damaged cotton is government owned, potentially making the case a federal offense. Investigators also consider other nearby fires as related.
