Four Hart elders die in crash high on Utah ridge

Hart Church of Christ elders Harold McCollum and J.C. Jackson of Dimmitt Mart Booe Charles Curtis Hanes and Wright San Juan County were killed when their plane crashed October 18 1972 on the Blue Ridge Mountains of southern Utah. The wreckage was found by deer hunters after a two week search, with the bodies recovered from the 10 400 foot high mountainside. Services for the victims were pending at Parsons Funeral Home in Olton.

Three Killed Ten Hurt In Highway Accidents

Three people died and ten were injured in three highway crashes on the South Plains Sunday. A Mercedes driver Juan Antonio Quijuna was killed when his car hit a truck on Hwy 70 near Plainview. Jose Perez Sanchez, 33, of Floydada, drove the truck and survived. In Hart, Eusebio Terrazas, 4, and in Olton, James and Clarence Saldivar were among the injured and dead in separate crashes. Five persons were listed in fair condition at Central Plains Hospital. See WRECKS Page 10.
