Brown Given 13 Years In Slaying Of Parents

Jack Brown was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the killing of his parents after a Lubbock trial that featured dramatic final arguments by Dist. Atty. Alton R. Griffin and Bart Boling. Defense witnesses urged mercy while the court denied a probation bid. Brown testified he had no prior felony convictions. The trial, moved from 137th District Court to Paso, concluded with a maximum life term being argued as a possibility and the jury later imposing the 13 year sentence.
