Texas will receive 33.248 million dollars from the latest Federal aid highway allotment. Commerce Department official George S Thompson in Dallas announced the total 718.403 million for the first and second quarters of 1961. The state's cumulative allotment reaches 101.626 million.

Lubbock Community Clothing Center reports ongoing shortages of school age children’s clothing and shoes due to high demand.
