A new round of thunderstorms spread across North Central Texas and into the hill country west of Austin and into South Texas after a severe weather siege the prior day. Tornadoes and hail lashed areas including south of San Antonio, with cooler air moving from the Rockies bringing lower temperatures and a dry forecast for Lubbock despite a passing front.

Navy Goes After Mysterious Sub

Leavenworth Prison Blast Kills Three
Three men including a civilian supervisor and two convicts were killed in an explosion that damaged an outbuilding at the Leavenworth federal prison.
