UT Philosophy Professor Caroline appeals over contract fire
Norman Hackerman will rule early next week after Caroline met with the UT president seeking a reversal of Dean John Silber who refused an extension. Silber labeled Caroline as burnout and unproductive while the department chair favored a one year extension but was overruled. The board of regents approved last spring’s council decision. Caroline claimed basic teaching duties, research and publishing could be done easily. The Appalachian Trail description follows, noting it runs from Mount Katahdin to Springer Mountain.
