Official Enrollment Figure For Tech Reaches 17 768

Tech's official enrollment for the fall semester totals 17 768 a record for the college and a nine percent gain over last year. The count, announced Friday by Floyd D. Bela Gets 20 Years In Holdup

Bela, 22, of Lubbock, was convicted of robbery by firearms for the Idalou State Bank holdup last Nov 26. A six over six jury gave a 20 year sentence, with two accomplices receiving 50 and 30 years. bela cried as his father testified.

Alaskan Temblor Shakes Anchorage Area

A Friday earthquake measured between 5 and 6.4 on the Richter scale and was felt from Anchorage to Valdez and Kenai. There were no injuries or damage reported while Mt. Redoubt was seen puffing smoke, though officials say no direct link between the quake and volcanic activity is established.

Colorado to lead 300000 UFO study by university group
