Pyle Funeral In Minnesota After War Correspondent’s Death
Mrs. Geraldine Pyle widow of Ernie Pyle will have funeral services in Stillwater Minnesota. She died yesterday in Albuquerque New Mexico and will be buried at Evergreen cemetery in Afton Minnesota. Her sister and mother described her loss of interest in life after Ernie Pyle’s death on April 18.

Scouts Hold District Contests Safely At Scout Park
Scouts from Lubbock and Sudan competed in a two day district arama at Scout Park. Class A winners included five troops from Lubbock and thirty nine from Sudan by points. Class B included eight Lubbock troops and twenty from Muleshoe while classes C featured Lubbock troops 2, 3, 5 and 13. The meet opened with gusty winds and concluded Saturday.

Adolf Hitler’s private silverware is shown on a Texas train tour to promote Victory bonds. Master Sgt. Wilbur Hummer found the solid silver in Munich area and loaned it to the U S Treasury for the tour. Texarkana crowds viewed the display as part of a nationwide campaign with other captured items and war memorabilia.
