Twenty Tech Students Named to Who's Who Among Students

Twenty Texas Tech students, including 13 girls and seven boys, were elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities for 1948 49. A six student committee and two administrators based the selections on scholarship, leadership, character, activity, and promise, with eligibility set at a 1.70 average for juniors. Recipients include Frances Barnard of Lamesa, Lucille Cleaviness of Mart, Dorothy Nel Clift of Waxahachie, Troy Deflubb, Ruth Deerdorf, Ruth Maxine Deerdorf, and others with varied roles in student government, clubs, and honor societies.

Recreation Is To Be Studied This Week In Lubbock

A recreation school is set for Lubbock this week under city recreation and the Senior High School Religious Council. Mrs. Annie Livingston of New York City will teach leadership training for the National Recreation Association. Sessions run Monday to Friday at Fellowship hall First Presbyterian church and various city venues.

Ground-Breaking Planned for Crosbyton General Hospital

Crosbyton announces a ground-breaking ceremony for the Crosbyton General Hospital set for next Saturday at 2 p m. G E Huddleston chairs the board and will preside. Miss Frieda Sherwood will turn the first shovel, having been named Crosbyton FFA sweetheart. Vice-president QO Elder will give the principal address as staffer Neema Sherrard hosts the event.
