Misprint UN Issue Stamp Heads to Dealers at High Price
A misprinted United Nations four cent stamp, missing the black color, sold for over 10 000 dollars to a wholesale stamp firm J & H Stolow Inc, after a New York collector bought 50 for 2 dollars. Fraenkel says the stamps could fetch over 400 dollars each to collectors. The error was detected after Harrison & Sons of London screened the U N issue before its February 28 1962 sale.
