E. W. Williams Jr. announced Saturday that PHE R. G. FARRELL Co. of Odessa won the $3,000,000 contract to build the 11 story Citizens National Bank building at the northwest corner of 14th St. and Ave. K. Work starts immediately with a March 15, 1965 completion target.
A 30 year old Lubbock woman Mrs Cataratino Mojica and her 11 month old daughter Tammy died in a broadside collision on Avenue A as her husband and a second vehicle’s occupants were injured. The crash near 56th Street was the city’s worst traffic toll this year with 14 deaths to date. The Mojica car struck Miss Patricia Jones 20 and Darvin Hogg 23, who were hospitalized after the collision. Police describe a 198 foot skid before impact and a wrecked front end that welded the two cars together.
More than 2,500 Shrine members attended the Khiva Temple Fall Harvest Round-Up, climaxing with 42 new nobles initiated. Khiva Temple serves 38 Panhandle counties and joins 845,000 Shrine members in North America in funding charity, including 17 crippled children's hospitals which spent over 80 million dollars in 1963.

He claimed range up to 8 000 miles and 90 minutes first legs, while noting recent tests destroyed high speed air targets.
