Postwar Building Planned by Morton City Council

Archbishop Will Be Buried On Friday
Archbishop Joseph Schrembs, head of the Cleveland Catholic diocese for 25 years, will be buried Friday in the crypt beneath St. John Cathedral after a four year illness. He died at 79. He is succeeded by Bishop Edward Francis Hoban, named coadjutor in Cleveland in 1947 and elevated by Pope Pius XII in 1939 for his merits.

Levelland Texas November 3 hundreds of farmers from Texas Oklahoma and New Mexico are expected for the dedication of a 5500 barrel a day refinery Harold H Hogue of Dalhart president of the refinery association says last year more than 30000 farmers in the three states formed co operative farms to purchase the refinery from the Motor Fuels corporation for over three quarters of a million dollars Farmers will manage the first farmer owned petroleum refinery in the southwest.

Navy Plans To Halt Oklahoma Operations
Norman Oklahoma November 3 U P The Navy department announced plans to end most landlocked operations in Oklahoma by mid 1946. Training at the Norman Naval Air Technical Training Center would stop by May 1 with possible continuation of the separation center and Norman hospital. LAAF Falls Short Of Army Separation Quota Ahead of VJ Day
Lubbock Army Airfield reports 389 officers and 945 enlisted men discharged, totaling 1330, from service ahead of the Central Flying Training Command quota. The discharge point threshold drops from 70 to 60 points effective Nov 1. RAF men with 50+ points and two years in service in the interior zone will be separated as centers handle them, unless in essential work or surplus. Only five eligible LAAF enlisted men remain unsent to separation centers.

Super Mouse Kills Cat With One Nip
Lawton Oklahoma report states Shirley Carter found a mouse in a bathtub drain and after striking it with a slipper the mouse became unconscious. The cat later bit the woozy mouse in the jugular and died from blood loss. A victory bond promotion with a noon barbecue at Level land rodeo grounds was noted.
