Craddick challenges Midland County redistricting plan
State Rep. Tom Craddick of Midland filed suit over alleged gerrymandering in the proposed Midland County split. The plan removes Craddick’s 70th district, places about 25 000 Midlanders in the 71st district and 40 000 in the 66th district, with Craddick facing Grant Jones in 1972 if reelection occurs. A petition from 5 000 residents sought to keep the county undivided.

The Veterans Administration urged veterans using the GT bill to submit end of term attendance cards to receive benefits.
