Post Office Safe Breaker Given 15 Month Term
John Stahl aged 28 faced the Old Bailey after trying to blast a post office safe with gelignite and failing to locate his getaway car. He ran about shoeless as police dogs tracked him. the car lay just around the corner. Stahl pleaded guilty to breaking into the post office with intent to rob the safe and was sentenced to 15 months in jail.
