Seminole mechanic dies in crash near city limits
Thomas Medford Morris, 48, of Seminole, was killed when his car collided with a vehicle driven by 17 year old Katherine Woltz, en route to the veterinarian with a Chihuahua puppy. The wreck occurred about 9 am, two miles east of Seminole on U S Highway 180. Woltz suffered a fractured right leg and was listed in satisfactory condition at St Marys Hospital in Lubbock. Morris was the Gaines County fatality in five days, the 30th highway death on the South Plains this year. Highway patrolman Jean Pate investigated.

City’s 100 Sets New Heat Record
