El Paso Area Reports Mild Earth Tremors Early Monday
North east El Paso felt four mild tremors beginning 3 26 a m CDT with magnitudes around 2 25 to 1 0. Police said no severe damage or injuries occurred. Shocks centered about 30 miles north northeast near Newman Tex. Harold Slusher noted this may be the first tremor in 30 years.

City Council approves widening Indiana Avenue plan and condemn land
The council in a special session indicated formal approval to condemn 62.5 feet at the northwest corner of 34th Street and Indiana Avenue to fit a widened two northbound lanes left turn lane two southbound lanes and two right turn lanes. Bids open at 2 p.m. today for land purchase. Indiana Avenue to extend to 4th Street across Texas Tech campus at an estimated cost of 2.4 million.
