Castro Says He Aims To Mediate Soviet China Rift

Fidel Castro told Lisa Howard in Havana that he seeks to mediate tensions between the Soviet Union and Red China and would welcome a summit with Kennedy and Khrushchev. He said Cuban troops include Russian technicians who would fight if needed and dismissed widening ideological splits as resolvable. City probe continues as federal grand jury indicts in home loan case

Dallas County salesman, Lewis Pinkney Decker, is indicted in a federal case alleging he made a false statement to obtain a loan insured by the FHA. The northern district of Texas grand jury also returns 55 true bills as a state court probe into Lubbock conventional home loans proceeds, with witnesses tied to the Billie Sol Estes case. Several Amarillo associates linked to Superior Manufacturing faced earlier fraud charges. the court expects more indictments Monday.
