Texas voters will cast ballots May 18 on four amendments including ethics commission creation and legislative pay raise concerns. Other proposals would allow amendments in special sessions, raise welfare aid limits, and authorize $100 million in bonds for water and sewer improvements with higher interest limits.
President Nixon plans a Monday inspection tour of the planned national recreation area at Sandy Hook New Jersey and Breezy Point and Jamaica Bay New York. Ziegler said some 93000 acres would be opened for park use including 10 miles of beaches with legislation needed. Governors Cahill Rockefeller and Mayor Lindsay will join the tour. Newark Mayor Gibson was invited but unavailable.
