Blaze in Residence Kills Man at 1303 31st Street
Alick Booker died in a small frame house fire at 1303 31st St shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday. Two others escaped serious injury as neighbors aided. Mr and Mrs Harold Pope housed Booker at times during the incident. First 1971 city fire death. Pangburn Safe and Lock Co. also damaged by a later blaze on the Brownfield Highway.
