TSTA Sees Plan Okay Undersize Tax Bill

Freighters clash in fog near Mackinac Strait

In dense fog two freighters collided in the Straits of Mackinac. The Cedarville sank within minutes with 10 crewmen dead or missing, 3 bodies recovered, 7 believed lost. Cedarville carried limestone from Calcite to Gary. Topdalsfjord, from Oslo to Port Arthur, arrived safely.

Severe storms sweep Texas Panhandle and Great Lakes region

A string of storms moved through the Panhandle causing hail damage and a touched ground funnel near Shamrock while Great Lakes freighters collided in heavy fog. Four funnels were spotted with one reaching ground, and Wichita Falls reported large hail and rain. Forecasters warn of more snow in the West as temperatures rise on the South Plains with highs near 90.

Lewter Feed liquidated in 388 acre Cooke County sale

In a 140th District Court bidding, John W. Murchison bought 388 acres of Lewter Feed property in Cooke County for 161000. Tom B Simmons Jr, court appointed receiver, indicated remaining accounts would be liquidated soon.
