Carbon 14 Test Probes Earliest American Campground

Archaeologist Mark Harrington sails to southern Nevada to study an ash pit dated by Carbon 14 as over 23 800 years old. The site, where bones of giant sloths were found, may hold the first evidence of humans in the Western Hemisphere. Harrington notes the find could reveal what early Americans looked like and suggests they might resemble Neanderthal or early American Indians.
