Legislative Budget Board confusion over earmarked funds
The Legislative Budget Board faced confusion over a 2.2 million dollar earmark for Odessa College in the next fiscal year while funds normally go to the Texas Education Agency. The error was acknowledged as inadvertent and connected to a tight election context. The proposal would raise new taxes totaling 126 million dollars, with further scrutiny planned for related expenditures.
